House shopping.
We offered a good bit over asking (which was a little padded based on comps) and to split closing costs on a house in it’s first full day on the market.
Of course we didn’t get it.
About two weeks ago we raised our price that we were willing to pay thinking things would get less competitive; so far, not so much.

It’s a shit show out there.
When you are bidding over asking price and have no idea what others are bidding, it’s a shit show. Someone else could bid a dollar higher than you... or a million dollars higher than you. I hate the system as a buyer. As a seller it sure is nice to pick the highest number.

Our agent has talked about doing an escalation clause but in this situation we were already pretty close to our max, so ....
